Put your Services and Blogs on all Social Media Channels.
One of the best ways to improve your website’s SEO is to increase its social signals. Social signals are a ranking factor that refers to the engagement and activity your website receives on social media platforms. The more social signals you have, the higher your authority Google will see your practice, and your website will rank in the search engine results pages (SERPs).
There are several ways to increase your social signals, but one of the most effective is simply putting your services and blogs on all social media channels. This will allow users to share, like, and comment on your content, which will, in turn, signal to search engines that your website is active and engaging.
Create Links through guest blogging on other sites.
This is a process where you write content for another website in exchange for a link back to your site. These links are essential because they help to increase the authority of your website, which will, in turn, improve your rankings in the SERPs. While this is one of the slower and more challenging ways of building backlinks, I have found this to be the most rewarding as we can find new backlinks that your competitors don’t have or are local to your geo, giving you more authority and trust from Google.
Check backlink profiles for broken links.
Backlinks help increase your website’s authority and improve your rankings in the SERPs. However, if you have links coming from other websites going to 404s, it can hurt your SEO. That’s why it’s essential to check your backlink profile regularly and ensure that all the links go to active pages.
If you find any broken links, you can either contact the website owner and ask them to update the link or update the broken link yourself using a 301 redirect. I recommend doing both.
Submit your site to as many Directories and Citations as possible
Submitting your website to directories and citations helps improve your SEO in two ways. First, it increases the number of backlinks pointing to your website, which helps increase its authority. Second, it supports local SEO by increasing your practice’s visibility on local search engines.
To start, manually submit your website to as many directories and citations as possible. Since most of your competitors will be doing this as well, we have found that attention to detail makes the difference. Fill out the profile FULLY, and make sure the Name, Address, Phone (NAP), and Email are exact. And keep them updated. This will help your practice get found online and improve your SEO.
Treat Google Business Profile like a social media channel
To improve your local SEO, you must treat your Google Business Profile like a social media channel. This means regularly updating your profile with new photos, posts, videos, and content. It also means responding to reviews and messages promptly. The more active you are on your profile, the higher it will rank in the SERPs.
We believe an unmentioned ranking factor could be showing that you are active in your online business and at the practice. Google wants to know offering your business will provide the searcher what they want, and that’s usually a company that can handle their online requests.
Improve your internal linking as well
To improve your internal linking, add links to other pages on your website whenever it makes sense to do so. For example, if you’re writing a blog post about rhinoplasty, you could link to relevant pages on your website, like before-and-after photos or service pages.
Our best advice here is to know your site inside and out to look for opportunities. We do this with every website by drawing a website framework of the most important pages and keyword clusters around each. We then look for internal linking options to link to the pages we want google to associate with those keyword topics.
Boost your content with paid ads
Paid ads are a great way to boost your content and get it in front of more people. When done correctly, paid ads can help you reach your target audience, generate leads, and improve your SEO. This can be as simple as sharing new blogs on pages on Facebook and boosting a post or something longer term with Pinterest services page promotions. The cost of these boosts will help with social signals to Google and brand awareness to those who might not be ready to call for a consultation.
Press Releases when there’s something newsworthy.
Google started penalizing sites exploiting press release newswire services to increase their backlink profiles. In response, the newswire sites implemented measures to stop their platforms from becoming spammy link farms. They did this by making all links within press releases ‘nofollow’, which means there’s little to no ‘link juice’ passed onto the site. This is an excellent place for naked backlinks or branded backlinks and allows the surrounding content to give context to the URL link.
Here are some examples of Press Release titles:
- Survey Finds Demand for Cosmetic Surgery, Driven by Women Under 45, Surged After the Pandemic
- Male Breast Reduction Surgery Improves Quality of Life for Teens – Even With Complications
- 2022 Statistics & Trends Released – Demand for Facial Plastic Surgery Skyrocket
- Facial Swelling and Fillers After the Covid-Moderna Vaccine
If you have access to these Plastic Surgeon Industry statistics for your GEO, these will make great press releases with your expert insights on the findings.
Consider your other Backlinking Options
There are many ways to build links, but not all are effective for Plastic Surgeons. For example, link buying is generally not considered a good idea because it can lead to Google penalties. Link farms are also a no-no because they’re nothing more than sites full of low-quality links meant to inflate a website’s link profile artificially.
Here are some other backlinking options for Plastic Surgeons:
- Broken links
- Outreach
- Unlinked Mentions
- Creating Linkable/sharable content
- Public Speaking/Become a Source
In most cases, your business will use more than one link-building strategy. Which ones you use, however, will depend on your company and you. We can help you develop an effective link-building strategy tailored to your business and goals.
