Getting access to client accounts has always been one of the hardest tasks of any Agency. It can be an issue with the client not knowing who has access, forgotten passwords, or merely old agencies not giving you access to your data. So frustrating, we know!

Here at Search Envy, we do our best to teach you how to manage your accounts and let us stick to providing an excellent service.

To go on a little bit of a rant, Google doesn’t allow you (Client) to give organization access (Agency) without creating a group then managing those within the group. We have found that there is no fast way for you to provide our entire team access without individually adding everyone 1 by 1. I believe eventually Google Marketing Platform will have this feature, but at the time of writing this, it seems that you have to create a group, add all us Yahoos to the group, then share access with said group. This still is a hassle to setup.

Our solution was to create a real email address for each department and control the login information to that Gmail account to who will need access on our team. As our agency grows, or google changes its access process, we will change this to keep it as straightforward as possible for you to grant us access.

We do not share this email address access with anyone outside of our agency

And just as a general policy, we do not hire people/contractors that are not Stateside.

  1. Sign in to Google Analytics.

  2. Click Admin, and navigate to the desired account then click Account User Management.

At Search Envy, we ask that you grant us access to the “Account” Level.

  3. In the Account users list, click +, then click Add new users.

  4. Enter the Google associated email address.

Emails we will need to be added will be provided in the pre-launch email.

  5. Select Notify new users by email to send a message to the user.

  6. Select the permissions you want to Grant.

At Search Envy, we do not need higher permissions than Edit and for security reasons we recommend just that, unless specified. But if you would like us to have access to manager users for whatever reason that is ok too. (check the 3 boxes but dont worry about the last one “Manager Users.”)

  7. Click Add.

  8. Finished!

If you are launching soon with Search Envy please be sure to check that all access has been granted to all the various accounts.

This is only one of the many things we like to make sure we have access to when working with a client.
