- Brand/Watermark your before and after photos
- Video is the new content king
1. Get your Before and After Photos Correct NOW!
After analyzing 100s of Plastic Surgeon websites. the number one thing that surgeons need to be doing is getting high-quality before and after photos of all their surgeries from the beginning. The second best thing you can do is start now with high-quality, good lighting photos. Most phones would be able to handle the camera side of things but I would recommend lighting be the focus of your efforts from what I have seen.
here are some examples of sites I think are doing it correctly
Very well branded, clear before and final results at home photos.
A more professional approach, the lighting is perfect for both before and after images. I would recommend some branding watermarks on the images.
2. Make sure website visitors have their way to contact you
I have noticed that sites rarely have a phone, contact form, chat, and email options for contacting your practice. This is just bad digital strategy when you don’t have all these options easily accessible because most people want to talk to a human being as fast as possible. Your digital marketing goal should be to make all of your patients feel important and try not to make them feel like they are just numbers.
Your digital presence enhances the way consumers think about you. Be Available!
3. Easy to navigate services and Doctors
When it comes to digital marketing for plastic surgeons, one of the most important things you can do is make sure your website is easy to navigate. This means putting all of your contact information – including phone number, email address, and chat options – in an easily accessible place, and ensuring that your website design is clean and easy to understand.
You should also make sure that your doctors are easily accessible on your website and easy to find reviews. Patients want to be able to quickly find information about the surgeons who will be performing their surgery, and they want to be able to easily get in touch with them. Having an easy-to-use website will help you stand out from the competition and make patients feel more confident about choosing your practice.
Also, this might be my biased personal opinion but, when I see a hamburger menu on the desktop website I don’t know bother looking at what’s hidden in that menu. Make it clear and concise on what you would like me to do when I get to your website. hamburger menus are not clear actionable items and lead visitors down the page to other sections (maybe your intention)
4. Get more reviews. No, get more
From what I have seen, one of the most important digital marketing strategies that plastic surgeons should be using is getting more reviews. Reviews and testimonials can go a long way in making potential patients confident in your services and help to provide them with peace of mind. Review platforms like Google, Yelp, and other popular directories. By offering potential patients the chance to see both good and bad reviews as well as speak with current patients about their experience, you can really set yourself apart from the competition.
It is also important to make sure that you are following up with patients after their surgery to find out how they feel about their results and determine if there were any problems or issues that caused them unhappiness as part of the delight phase of your customer journey.
5. Don’t gate your images
I have noticed that most websites are not gating theirs before and after photos. If you are not getting them there is no reason to clean them up. What I have noticed is that the branded logo over the privates sometimes looks a bit tacky and is covering up your work. For social media posts, I would blur the private areas and be sure not to cover up the differences in work. And on the website, I would show the full view (from multiple angles if you can). I have not seen any negative rankings to these pages due to nudity (this is the service you are providing, people visiting the site are expecting to see your work don’t hide it.)
6. Brand/Watermark your before and after photos
When you’re watermarking your photos, you want to make sure that the watermark is visible and can’t be easily cropped out. You also want to make sure that the watermark is legible and easy to read. You can use a text watermark or an image watermark. A logo watermark is a good choice if you have a professionally designed logo that is easily recognizable for who you are. This helps establish a brand and also helps from your photos getting stolen to other sites and helps your over brand exposure
7. Video is the new content king
Video has become an increasingly popular content format, and it’s not hard to see why. Videos are engaging, personable, and can make you very approachable. They can help you connect with your audience on a deeper level, and they can help you build a stronger relationship with your patients.
There are many different ways to use video in your digital marketing strategy. You can create video patient testimonials, video case studies, or even video blog posts. You can also use video to promote your services and to answer common questions from patients.
The Jist
Branding your photos is very important and should be done before uploading to digital marketing platforms.
